Andrew Pike Advisory
Crafting Change with Vision, Experience, and Unwavering Integrity
About
Andrew Pike is the Founder of his own advisory, public affairs and communications consultancy. He had a storied career culminating in a number of high profile roles at the top of the UK government, as diplomat and civil servant.
From 2021 until 2023, but with long involvement previously, he was Director of No 10 Downing Street and the Cabinet Office’s GREAT Britain and Northern Ireland campaign – the world’s most successful overseas nation branding and prosperity initiative.
From 2020, he was part of the Northern Ireland Office’s senior leadership, including as member of its board and Executive Committee as Director of Communications and Engagement, with particular focus on UK transition from the European Union (BREXIT), political stability, the Union and Northern Ireland-related terrorism.
Andrew was the first Director of National Security Communications at No 10 and the Cabinet Office. He led the cross government communications response to the Russian poisonings in Salisbury and Gulf tanker crisis.
As GCHQ’s first ever Director of Communications and Engagement, from 2015 to 2017, he led an ambitious engagement programme designed to increase understanding of the crucial work the agency performs to keep people safe. This highly acclaimed work was internationally unprecedented for an intelligence agency in its scope and impact.
Andrew has a keen interest in leadership development. He chairs a programme at Windsor Leadership under the patronage of His Majesty the King and is a regular speaker. He is chair of the board of trustees for takeamoment.uk, a trustee of the British Forces Foundation and senior adviser to madebydyslexia.org, and battersea.org.uk.
A career diplomat by background, among a plethora of postings all around the globe, he worked for almost six years, from 2004-2009 in New York as Her Majesty’s Consul with responsibility for Northern Ireland and was British government lead on the Northern Ireland peace process with the White House, The Hill and US government.
Andrew also briefly led communications for the BBC in England.
Andrew was awarded an OBE in 2007 by Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for services to peace and reconciliation in Northern Ireland. He was awarded a CBE in the 2024 New Year Honours list by His Majesty King Charles III for public service, with special emphasis on his work on benefit to the UK’s economy and national security.
